چکیده

The demand for increased turbomachinery performance, both, towards higher pressures and temperatures, leads to high thermal-loads of specific components can critically affect mechanical integrity. In the particular case rotating-disk configurations, like back-side wheels or in cavities, a very efficient way cooling is jet impingement. An example this situation are pressure-ratio turbochargers, where impeller disk (back wall) introduced achieve tolerable thermal loads. From physical point view, impingement on rotating wall generates an unsteady heat transfer situation. On other end, accurate values time-averaged temperatures would be sufficient design purposes. general, obtaining circumferentially solutions requires transient analysis conjugate (CHT) process account mean effect solids. Such computationally expensive, due difference information propagation time-scale solid fluid. paper, new approach directly compute (i.e., steady-state) temperature distributions CHT problems presented based adaption well known fluid-fluid mixing plane approach.

Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer of Nanofluids over a Flat Plate with Conjugate Heat Transfer

The falling and settling of solid particles in gases and liquids is a natural phenomenon happens in many industrial processes. This phenomenon has altered pure forced convection to a combination of heat conduction and heat convection in a flow over a plate. In this paper, the coupling of conduction (inside the plate) and forced convection of a non-homogeneous nanofluid flow (over a flat plate) ...

Heat Transfer Correlation for Two Phase Flow in a Mixing Tank

Mixing tanks equipped with mechanical stirrer are broadly applied in chemical and petrochemical industries, due to their variety of industrial process requirements. In this study, helical single blade mixer was designed applying CATIA and then mixing of fluid and solid particles, in a tank with this agitator was examined by OpenFOAM. For velocity distribution in the mixing tank, continuity, mom...

A FAST MESH-FREE GALERKIN METHOD FOR THE ANALYSIS OF STEADY-STATE HEAT TRANSFER

The element-free Galerkin method is employed for two-dimensional analysis of steady-state heat transfer. The unknown response of the system, i.e. temperature is approximated using the moving least squares technique. Numerical integration of governing simultaneous system of equations is performed by Gauss quadrature and new modified nodal integration techniques. Numerical examples and tests have...

Transient Heat Transfer during Cryogenic Chilldown

Cryogenic fluids have found many practical applications in today’s world, from cooling superconducting magnets to fueling launch vehicles. In many of these applications the cryogenic fluid is initially introduced into piping systems that are in excess of 150 degrees Kelvin higher than the fluid. This leads to voracious evaporation of the fluid and significant pressure fluctuations, which is acc...
